Some SanDisk Extreme portable SSDs sold in 2022 and 2023 had a firmware fault that caused data loss. If yours has been disconnecting, stop using it.
How we recover it
We read the SSD with specialist tools that talk to the controller directly, repair or bypass the firmware, and copy the flash before recovering your files from the copy.

Questions
Can a failed SanDisk Extreme PRO Portable SSD be recovered?
In most cases, yes. Controller and firmware faults are the most common SSD failures, and the data is usually still in the flash chips.
What should I do now?
Stop using it. Don’t update the firmware or format it.
