Acer Chromebook CB3-532 data recovery

We recover files from the Acer Chromebook CB3-532, from a series Acer sold 2013–2026. Chromebooks keep most files in your Google account, but anything saved only in Downloads or on the device needs the Chromebook itself to start and unlock with your password.

Where your files are

The Acer Chromebook CB3-532 has its storage (eMMC flash) soldered to the motherboard. There is no drive to take out, so if the laptop won’t start we repair the board itself to bring the data back. Chromebook storage is encrypted to your Google account, so the data can only be read on the original board, signed in as you. We repair the board rather than removing chips.

Chromebook storage is soldered to the board and encrypted to your Google account.

What’s wrong with it?

What it is doingWhat it usually means
Won’t turn on or chargeA motherboard fault. Repairing the board brings the data back.
Liquid damageSwitch off and leave it off. Board cleaning and repair is the route to the data.
Stuck on the logo or recovery screenThe storage or system is damaged. Don’t reset or powerwash it.
Cracked screen, still workingCopy your files off now with an external screen, or we can do it.

Switch it off. Don’t keep restarting a laptop that clicks, freezes or won’t start, and don’t reset Windows. Both can overwrite or destroy the files you want back.

Questions about the Acer Chromebook CB3-532

Can you recover data from a Acer Chromebook CB3-532 that won’t turn on?

Yes, in most cases, by repairing the motherboard, because the storage is soldered to it. We diagnose the board first and tell you the price before any work starts.

How long does it take?

Most logical recoveries take two to four working days. Drives that need cleanroom work or board repair take longer, and we can prioritise urgent jobs.
