We recover files from the Acer Aspire 7750G, from a series Acer sold 2011–2012, at our London SE1 lab. It has a 2.5-inch SATA hard drive. Common causes of data loss are a failed drive, liquid, drops and accidental deletion.

Where your files are

The Acer Aspire 7750G stores your files on a removable 2.5-inch SATA hard drive. Even if the laptop won’t power on, the drive can be taken out and recovered on its own.

What’s wrong with it?

What it is doingWhat it usually means
Clicking, ticking or beepingThe hard drive’s heads have failed. Switch it off: every start can scratch the platters.
Dropped, now won’t startUsually head damage in the hard drive. A cleanroom job; the data is often fine.
“No bootable device”The drive isn’t detected, or Windows is damaged. Often a straightforward recovery.
Very slow, freezingA failing drive with bad sectors. Copy it now, before it gets worse.
Files deleted or laptop resetLogical recovery, as long as the drive hasn’t been used much since.

Switch it off. Don’t keep restarting a laptop that clicks, freezes or won’t start, and don’t reset Windows. Both can overwrite or destroy the files you want back.

Questions about the Acer Aspire 7750G

Can you recover data from a Acer Aspire 7750G that won’t turn on?

Usually, yes. The Acer Aspire 7750G has a 2.5-inch SATA hard drive, which we can take out and recover even if the laptop itself is dead.

Should I run recovery software first?

Only if the drive is healthy and the files were simply deleted. If the laptop clicks, freezes or the drive isn’t detected, switch it off: software makes a failing drive work harder.

How long does it take?

Most logical recoveries take two to four working days. Drives that need cleanroom work or board repair take longer, and we can prioritise urgent jobs.
